Michael Jordan hosts ‘Obama Classic’

After a career of being mum on politics, the greatest athlete of all time, Michael Jordan, is putting his iconic touch on the Obama campaign. Jordan will host the event along with Carmelo Anthony, Sheryl Swoops, Patrick Ewing and a host of NBA athletes from past and present.

“Hit the court with Patrick Ewing and Melo? Trade stories with the President? This is the kind of stuff your kids will tell their kids, and no one will believe it until you show them a photo,” wrote Marlon Marshall, the Obama campaign’s national field director.

The event will be held at a New York City basketball court on August 22nd and donors of as little as $3 can enter to win an all expense paid trip to be part of the festivities as well as a dinner with the NBA Legend himself. Don’t know about you all but we’re getting our donations together today! The event was originally scheduled for December 2011 but was pushed back due to the NBA lockout last season. The Obama campaign is going in to overdrive to get voters excited and out to polls with the same veracity they had in 2008 when the President inspired millions.
