The Obama Effect
As we approach the end of the first term of our 44th President, Barack Obama, lots of things have been said, documented and speculated about what his election and presidency will mean to the world at large in the years to come. Though polarizing at times, there is no doubt that the man occupying 1600 Pennsylvania Ave has done a lot just with his presence alone. His momentous journey inspired legendary record exec Barry Hankerson and respected veteran actor Charles Dutton to team up and create, The Obama Effect.
The Obama Effect is the comedic story of a middle-aged insurance salesman John Thomas, played by actor Charles S. Dutton, who, after a serious health scare, becomes obsessed with President Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign. At a time when he is struggling to make change in his own life, his wife, played by actress Vanessa Bell Calloway, hopes that his willingness to act and get Barack Obama elected will help him make positive changes for himself. The film also features a one of a kind performance by comedian Katt Williams and legendary actor, Glynn Turman.
